Recently, we received a visit from the other side of the world from Josephine Briginshaw, the Executive Director of the Robin Boyd Foundation in Australia. This foundation, named after the influential Australian architect Robin Boyd, focuses on the preservation and promotion of architecture and design. The Robin Boyd Foundation strives to increase public awareness and appreciation for innovative and sustainable built environments.
What does the Robin Boyd Foundation do?
– The foundation engages in various initiatives that bring together the heritage and future of architecture.
– They organise lectures, exhibitions and workshops to inform a broad audience about architectural trends and the history of modern design.
– Active research is conducted into the works and philosophies of Robin Boyd and other innovative architects, with the aim of sharing and documenting valuable insights for future generations.
– Through collaborations with designers, architects and cultural institutions, the foundation encourages innovation in the construction and design sector.
– It supports initiatives that focus on the preservation of important buildings and urban environments, so that they can continue to tell their stories in the future.
During her visit, we exchanged ideas and visions with Josephine about these shared passions. The conversation proceeded in a pleasant and constructive atmosphere, partly due to our shared conviction that progressive thinking and historical awareness go hand in hand.
We would have liked to share some photos to visualize this special moment, but unfortunately this was not possible – our apologies for that.
Instead, you can view some photos of the beautiful ‘Walsh Street House’, designed by Robin Boyd.
