In 1976, Carli Vanhout and Paul Schellekens designed the Stroobants House in Turnhout. Nearly fifty years later, the residence has remained exceptionally authentic and is now being offered for public sale via Biddit.
The house is a fine example of a key principle within the work of Vanhout & Schellekens: designing architecture for people and their needs.
Stroobants House was designed for a client with a disability, where accessibility was an integral part of the architectural concept from the very beginning.
The built-in interior was also largely designed by the architects. The fact that both the house and its interior have been preserved almost unchanged makes the ensemble particularly valuable today.
Soon, Stroobants House will have a new resident, and a new chapter will begin for this 1976 design.
