Erfgoed Noorderkempen is expanding its operations and is currently looking for two new architectural heritage consultants. With these recruitments, the organization aims to further strengthen its support for owners, local authorities and heritage actors in the region.
As an architectural heritage consultant, you will contribute to the preservation, management and future-oriented development of immovable heritage in the Noorderkempen region. You will guide heritage owners with restoration and redevelopment issues, advise local authorities on policy files and actively think about sustainable solutions for valuable buildings. One of the positions has a clear focus on religious heritage, including churches and other historical religious buildings that face new challenges today.
The position combines substantive expertise with consultation and mediation. Heritage is rarely black and white: you will find yourself in complex files where historical value, contemporary use and social interests come together. That is the essence of the job. You will work closely with colleagues, volunteers and external partners and help build a strong network around heritage conservation in the region.
Erfgoed Noorderkempen offers a full-time contractual position of indefinite duration, with room for part-time employment. The workplace is located in Turnhout, with a varied combination of office work, consultation moments and field visits. In addition to a market-conform salary, various extra-legal benefits are provided.
Interested parties can apply up to and including January 7, 2026. The selection procedure consists of a screening of CV and motivation, followed by a written assignment and an interview. More information about the vacancy and the application procedure can be found on the Erfgoed Noorderkempen website.
