AR-TUR visits Carli Vanhout House for the reprint of Architecture in the Golden Sixties: The Turnhout School
AR-TUR is currently working on the reprint and English translation of the 2012 publication Architecture in the Golden Sixties: The Turnhout School.
This new edition will not only make the original research available once again but will also be expanded with a new chapter that examines the Turnhout School from an international perspective.
As part of this research, Karina Van Herck (Flanders Heritage Agency) and Marieke Kuipers, together with Edith Wouters and Herbert Weyns from AR-TUR, visited a series of characteristic buildings of the Turnhout School on February 18.
One of the stops during this exploration was the Carli Vanhout House in Turnhout.
During the visit, led by Luc Vanhout, the residence was re-examined from a contemporary perspective. On-site observations and discussions about the architecture and its context will form the basis for a new reportage-style text, focusing on reflections regarding the significance of the Turnhout School today.
The presentation of the English translation and reprint of Architecture in the Golden Sixties: The Turnhout School is scheduled for September 12, 2026.
We would like to thank AR-TUR, the sponsors, and the researchers involved for their commitment to bringing this exceptional architectural heritage from Turnhout back into the spotlight.
